About Me

I'm Michel Reyter, a cybersecurity junior

My career in IT started in 2020 when I received my diploma as a certified IT technician. I then tried to get my Bachelor of Science in game programming, with no success, however. Fortunately I discovered the field of cybersecurity and fell in love with it soon after. Hoping to continue and grow in that field, I am looking forward to expanding this section further as time goes on.

Education

2023 - 2025

BTS Cybersecurity

Graduated in the field of Cybersecurity at the Lycée Guillaume Kroll, in Luxembourg with the highest honor and a GPA of 18.2/20.

2020 - 2023

B.Sc. Game design

Two of my greatest passions in life are video games and creating things. Therefore, I thought about pursuing a degree in it would be the smartest choice. At the Trier University of Applied Sciences, I tried and failed to achieve that, for various outside and inside factors. Though, I came out of it learning a lot about myself, the neighbouring countries, and a fresh outlook on life.

2016 - 2020

IT Technician (Second highest honor)

The start into the world of IT happened at the Lycée Guillaume Kroll, in Luxembourg, learning about general IT topics like networking, system administration, and web developement.

Experience

04/2025 - 06/2025

12 week internship at LuxConnect

Working for the luxembourg based datacenter company LuxConnect. Employee awareness through a phishing campaign and training with an LMS, D2D operations.

07/09/2024 - 16/09/2024

WorldSkills Lyon

The defining moment that solidified my interest in the field. Representing Luxembourg on a world-wide scale at the WorldSkills in Lyon. The competition days were 4 stressful days that had me cooperating with my teammates in an environment we both were not used to.

24/04/2024

2nd place at LuxSkills 2024

One of my proudest moments: Winning second place at the national competition, earning me the right to participate at WorldSkills 2024.

06/01/2020 - 14/02/2020

Internship at the water administration

At my second internship, I had to do general maintenance on the infrastructure, build a website that follows the precipitation in the country, as well as develop a prototype for a surveillance system.

09/07/2018 - 27/07/2018

Internship at the Ministry of Environment

As my very first professional experience, I created website templates for them, updating and improving on their existing websites, and set up work-spaces as well as a file server.

Skills

Penetration testing

One of the skills I want to sharpen, for which I have done several TryHackMe rooms for.

Web exploitation

My fondest category during CTFs, one I created a special section in my homelab for as well.

System administration

Most of my studies have evolved around setting up and configuring networks and PCs of different Operating Systems

Python coding

During my free time, I like to program applications using Python. Some will be linked in my portfolio.

CTFs

One of the hobbys I spend most of my time on. With recent events showing promising results.

Writing

As a side hobby, I like to write. This, in turn leads to clean documentation and reports.

Portfolio

My Projects :

Portfolio website

This very website you are looking at! I always wanted to have more than just a simple CV, and through some research I found the perfect template. While my webdev skills aren't good enough to have come up with everything myself, I did code it myself and adjusted it where I saw fit.

The template I used.

AI homelab

In order to be able to use the power of AI without the privacy concerns attached, I set up an Ubuntu server on which I installed a local AI. Having a conversation with an AI on a terminal is not a pleasant UX, therefore, I integrated it with Open WebUI in a docker container on my raspberry pie. Not only do I get a "ChatGPT"-esque interface, managing the AI(s) is much easier that way.
NetworkChuck's tutorial

Report Buddy

For my Python coding class, help ease the process and workflow of writing notes and creating reports during a pentest.
Latest Python version is not supported, need to clarify it in my documentation in order for it to count as "completed"

Ongoing projects:

CompTIA pentest+ (TryHackMe)

The next milestone I want to achieve on THM is the CompTIA pentest+ learning path.

Web Application Pentesting (TryHackMe)

Yet another THM learning path that I want to complete.

OWASP Juice Shop

Installed on my private docker environment, I have a local Juice Shop running to train myself in identifying and exploiting the OWASP top ten vulnerabilities.

Cisco Certified Ethical Hacker

After all the THM rooms I started, I want to start and complete the CISCO EH learning path on netacad.

CCNA 200-301

As I'm already used to and earned some Cisco certifications, the logical next step is to get officially certified.
